These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website cootstaxidermy.com and your engagement of taxidermy services provided by Coots Taxidermy, located at 5240 Mustang Street, Las Vegas, NV 89130 ("Coots Taxidermy," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this Site or submitting a specimen for our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or engage our services.

1. Use of the Website

This Site is provided for informational purposes and to facilitate inquiries about our services. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You may not:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law
  • Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its related systems
  • Submit false or misleading information through our contact form

2. Taxidermy Services — General

Coots Taxidermy provides professional taxidermy services including shoulder mounts, life-size mounts, bird mounts, European mounts, rugs, and related work for legally harvested North American game. All work is performed in-house by Bradley at our Las Vegas, NV studio. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our sole discretion.

Legally harvested specimens only. By submitting a specimen, you represent and warrant that the animal was lawfully taken in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local hunting and wildlife laws, including any required licenses, tags, and permits. We are not responsible for verifying legal compliance of any specimen submitted to us. Submission of an illegally taken specimen may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

3. Estimates and Pricing

All pricing quotes and estimates provided — whether on this website, by phone, by text, or in person — are subject to final confirmation at the time of drop-off. Final price may be adjusted based on the actual condition of the specimen, the specific pose or customization requested, and any applicable add-ons agreed upon at intake. Current pricing is listed on our Pricing page and is subject to change without notice. Quoted prices are honored for 30 days from the date of the quote.

4. Deposits and Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed service price is required before work will begin. The remaining balance is due in full upon completion and pickup of the finished mount.

  • Work will not commence until the deposit is received and cleared.
  • Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at drop-off.
  • Completed mounts not picked up within 60 days of notification may incur a storage fee of $25 per month or be subject to other remedies at our discretion.
  • Prices are in U.S. dollars.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Because taxidermy is a highly customized, labor-intensive service, the following cancellation terms apply:

  • Before work begins: Your deposit may be applied as a credit toward a future order. Refunds are at our sole discretion.
  • After work has begun: Deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel after work has started, you will be responsible for the full cost of any materials used and labor performed up to the date of cancellation.
  • Completed work: No refunds are available once a mount has been completed and is ready for pickup.

If you have a concern about the quality of finished work, please contact us directly at (702) 556-9272 before pickup. We stand behind our work and will make reasonable efforts to address legitimate concerns.

6. Turnaround Times

Standard turnaround time for most mounts is approximately 120 days (roughly four months) from the date work begins, subject to current order volume, species complexity, and supplier lead times. Estimated completion dates are provided as a courtesy and are not guaranteed. Rush services may be available for an additional fee — ask at drop-off. We will contact you when your mount is ready for pickup.

7. Specimen Condition and Acceptance

The quality of any finished mount depends significantly on the condition of the specimen at drop-off. You are responsible for proper care and field preparation of your animal before bringing it to us. Best practices include:

  • Keep the specimen cool and out of the sun immediately after harvest
  • Do not cut the throat or otherwise damage skin that will be used in the mount
  • For shoulder mounts, leave at least 6–8 inches of hide behind the front legs
  • Cape or full specimen should be frozen solid if not being dropped off within 24 hours

We reserve the right to refuse any specimen that is too damaged, decomposed, or otherwise unsuitable for quality taxidermy work. In such cases, any deposit paid will be refunded in full. We are not liable for damage to specimens that occurred prior to drop-off or that is inherent to the condition of the animal.

8. Photography and Intellectual Property

We may photograph or video completed mounts for use in our portfolio, on this website, and on our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.). By submitting a specimen, you grant Coots Taxidermy a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use photographs and videos of the completed work for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish your mount to be photographed for public use, please notify us in writing at drop-off.
